Wow, you make it sound as if being a Skulk is a bad thing. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Granted, it's the simplest alien breed, but I'll still rack up more kills as a skulk than I would as an Onos with that huge bullseye painted on my @ss. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I meant that they become knife wielding chew toys. However they are not as effective as skulks at that point obviously.

Getting past 2 or 3 turrets is a problem, zoda? Erh? Run past, jumping, dodging, two or three turrets won't even slow me down, let alone kill me.

As a skulk, buying time is the job. Time for the gorges to get that second hive up.

You get that time by dying, again and again,

Resource tower up? TF and 4 turrets nicely placed around it? Study that TF, parasite it, run in and stand where the fewest number of turrets can fire on you, and bite away. Die, run back, do it again. Unless the marines are sharp, you have the time to chew that TF down, dying twice, likely, and then its down.

Harass their base, unless you find it empty. In which case, run in and wait by the command chair. Listen. The sound of a marine porting in is distinctive. Wait for him to load up on ammo, and leave. Then bite the chair. Keep biting, keep listening, until another marine spawns. Then stop making noise. Wait for him to leave. Repeat. The hard part is trying not to fall out of the chair laughing.

Turrets aren't a threat. Mindless, slow, immobile. Use the buildings as shields, to protect you from them. Turrets also have a problem firing _down. More than once I've gotten in close, where a turret is up next to a TF, and stood between them, taking little damage.

BTW, a factiod not often known by the average skulk: turrets that shoot at you give a message to the commander. If you can run around making turrets shoot at you, you can overload a commander, making his life just that much more difficult. And that's what you live for, right?

Vents are your friend. Learn them, run them, love them. Its far more effective to drop out of the vent at the Horseshoe, when attacking the marine min-base there, than to run up the ramps to it.

Walls are your friends. So are Ceilings. Learn to run on them, it often removes that pounding stomping sound, makes it harder to hit you normally, and people often fail to look up.

Its not hard getting past a few turrets, and always fun getting past defenses to the important stuff inside them. Just be ready to die a lot once you do, and live with it.

It was mentioned before to remove Kill/Death points, and I agree very much. Someone else on another thread had the genius idea to replace that info with Location and HP/AP info for each player, which would be OH so useful for both Marine and Alien. When you get "<span style='color:orange'>NSPlayer: help me with this dual-res spot hurry!</span>", you can find out where that player is just by pressing TAB!!! I think the dev team should implement that feature ASAP, the only problem people would have with it is if they want to keep the Kill/Death points, which is OBVIOUSLY not what NS is all about.

people who decide to gorge til end game should do it ASAP. Gorges get about 3 times more resources per tick than skulks. If u go gorge immeaditely u will get resources faster. So rushing in the beginning is not a good idea if u decide to play gorge. But some of the best games ive been in involves skulks are constantly harassing. I once kept like 2-3 HA's busy cuz i was hiding in pipes and parasiting. They're too stupid to just move on.
