Apparently it will be sold on steam when it comes out, which accepts cards.
Otherwise I don't think so, selling retail involves a whole load of other things you need to do like getting the box, manual, and CD printed and getting shops to stock it.
You don't need a Paypal account for this, just click on "buy now" on naturalselection2.com, then go to "proceed to checkout" and you can pay with your credit card without having a paypal account.
Just sign up for Paypal and use your Credit Card?, I mean I have a Paypal account the balance on it's been $0.00 for about 5 years now, I don't pay anything for it, it's 100% free, it lets me use my Credit Card on things that only accept paypal, etc.

This. Unfortunately the paypal system is the only method for now. Steam will allow other payment methods once it appears on there.
I payed through my Amazon account, which uses my credit card, but that was during the NS2 + Overgrowth offer, so no idea if that is possible to do anymore.

This.
Paypal is simply an electronic wiring method for credit cards, bank accounts the works.
You DO NOT need a paypal account to purchase NS2 with a credit card, you just need to USE paypal's services to purchase using your credit card. It's as simple as clicking Buy Now and following the prompts.

Correct.
The site will always link towards paypal, and upon checkout, you can opt to pay directly without an account. However, you won't be able to further track the transaction through paypal.

It's still better to get this version anyways since more $$$ goes to the devs, It's also been confirmed Valve is going to transfer all the pre-orders to download the steam version anyways,

I'm curious if Valve would insist on a portion of those non-steam preorders. We'll be downloading from Steam, getting our updates from Steam, and be using Steam's resources.
Either way, NS2 on Steam is what's best for UWE and Flay has said he's had positive experiences with how Valve has ran Steam in the past, with that Sudoku game.

You can pay directly using your credit card you know? Just click on preorder and it gives you the option (i don't believe paypal is necessary)
If you don't like using your credit card on the internet (or if you don't have one like me), you can do this:
Okay this is what I did. I went to a gas station (por even go to 7 eleven) and asked for prepaid credit card. There are 2 options, $25 and $50 dollars. Buy whatever suits you best. I bought the $25 dollar one, paid $19.99 for NS2 (and spent the remaining on Torchlight from steam lol).

Prepaid cards are a very american thing I think, I don't know anywhere else that has them.
There's prepaid cards in Spain too, you get them in your bank, not in gas stations, though. I suppose it's the same for most banks, everywhere? They're not as popular, obviously, since everyone has credit cards...
