Mappers - Do you want testers?

Since there is no auto-download of maps at the moment, this is a question to all of you mappers out there who may want a wider audience to test your maps. Do you want a concise list of people willing to test maps? I'm sure it wouldn't take long to get several peoples' contact information for such things.

But what exactly do mappers want to test atm, with a none-gameplay alpha release about to happen?

Test if corridors are wide/tall enough for normal marine movements.. until we get to play the kharaa side and then test that portion out also.

That tends to be something that the map maker should test themselves and often. Getting a bunch of people to play it tends to be better when you are trying to balance it, not just look at it and see how it looks.

Walking distance, building space, siege ranges, lork on clorf spots :P. All of which we cannot test atm, due to lack of information

You don't need to test those points because if you have followed a mapping standard, the sizes of most corridors will be defaulted close to what they should be. The only thing that needs to be tested is map flow and timing balance. Everything else will just be for aesthetics.

Having one extra person to help criticize your map can really help. If anyone is getting access to the engine test and wants to check out my map, please drop me a PM. I would love to see some in-game screenshots and some suggestions for what I can improve from an in-game perspective.

I plan on throwing my map to the wolves after my own personal walk through or two, probably as a torrent and through pm if nobody wishes to go the torrent route.

I was just curious if others, mappers and non-mappers, felt the same way I did on the subject =)

Personally I don't think I'd handing my map to just anyone. I'd rather put it in the hands of someone that I believe wouldn't send it to everyone and possibly have someone try to steal what little work I've done.

Unfortunately, I'm in slayer's boat here as well. Until the editor has the ability to create a compile method to lock maps from being edited, I'm going to be traversing the same route.
