Good news, I had some problems starting it (it crashed first time) but on 2nd run it worked.
I wonder when you are going to start using the pak-system? Installing a custom mod over the existing files (has to be done because of some library problems) is causing issues. Max said it was working year ago or so but is it just not in the engine test?
Also I think my FPS stability has improved, good job. :)

For you guys that are getting slow downloads try changing your download region in steam settings. I've heard picking one where the users are likely asleep has good results. You have to restart steam after you change it to get it to set.

I'm quite excited to try the game out, but I crash immediately after starting a server. Should I send the minidump somewhere, or are those automatically sent to you via steam?
the download was running fine up until 80% and now it just says "suspended". changing server doesnt help either as it still says the same thing. any way around this?
Natural Selection 2 is using PhysX. Why did you decide to go this route for a physics engine? What does this mean for people (like me) who are anti-nvidia? Do you suspect that ATI-only gamers like myself will see any noticeable difference and do the drivers that shut down PhysX on non-NVidia cards even affect us at all?
[Config Bug] As previously mentioned, my controls were messed up on the initial run of NS, but on subsequent runs the problem has resolved itself.
[Map #2 Bugs] The second range map hardly works. It loads, but the cursor and all UI elements are black/broken. I believe the Geometry is all intact, but some props don't load at all (although the collision for the props are intact), and certain props like the Rotating fans cause blue lines to occasionally be drawn from the tip of where the fan blades would be (the fans are invisible) to where my gun would be (which is also invisible). The engine seemed to get confused on where some props were supposed to be as well, for example, the prop in the floor at Marine Start was not there, however, it appeared at an odd rotation on some other part of the map (minus the collision). Also, random white noise appeared out of nowhere in some cases. Yes, I lol'ed.
[Final Notes] I think its awesome how much progress you guys have made. Hope to see the Alpha in a few months!
[Specs] Just in case...
Windows XP SP3 AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.01 GHz 3Gb of ram ATI Radeon HD 4800
I looked in the Console before closing on the Range #2 map and found several messages about failing to create certain textures due to memory being maxed out. Unless you somehow quadrupaled texture size, I don't think thats the actual issue, as it ran fine pre-Steam.
That is all. (And sorry its not on your Satisfaction site. I despise it.)
