<div class="IPBDescription">thruster breaks off</div>After being attacked a certain number of times, and/or if the marine's health gets below 25%, there could be a small (1 in 10) chance that the next attack would cause one of the thrusters to break off. The marine would still be able to use the jetpack, but it would cause him to go spinning around uncontrollably.

Would be hilarious... but I dunno about gameplay.
But in these cases of sci-fi stuff the nanites would probably just shut the machine down.

At the point it breaks off, the marine is almost dead anyways. Skulks hearing the thruster go flying off (with a telltale sound) would know to go in for the kill. However, if this was too much of a disadvantage, the jetpack could be changed to be repairable. Heck, maybe they could even get away by flailing around wildly with only one thruster.
Pretty much nailed it, but random is rarely good unless you play into large numbers. Would make those 10hp getaways randomly turn into no more clutch yet you somehow can heal back to full with 2 medpack drops.
i like this idea.
if the pilot dies in mid flight the JP should continue to thrust until it hits a surface and then explode. it would definitely be fun to watch...
At least that's the only way I think it'd get done.
