LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
indie big brother ? o.O
But yeah, a camera that updates every 15 seconds seems to be pretty normal for some places.
"Here is another blurry image of lots of people sitting at computers in slightly different postures."
"Here is an additional blurry image of lots of people sitting at computers except that dude in the corner isn't there any more because he went to the toilet he will be back in a few minutes."
Riveting stuff.
i think i saw a fade in the background!!!

Meh, that's how they all are, it's expected. It's not meant for lively entertainment, it's meant to provide a closer connection between the community and the people who are making this game.
That's not a compromise, that's a waste of time for the team compared to the work they could be doing.
9:00 AM - 1,450 viewers.
11:00 AM - Someone makes a thread on 4chan with UWE's address.
11:25 AM - Pizza delivery.
11:31 AM - Pizza delivery.
11:38 AM - Party caterers arrive.
11:40 AM - Pizza delivery.
11:45 AM - Lumber truck arrives.
11:48 AM - Escorts arrive for one Matt Regan.
12:00 PM - Pizza delivery.
12:05 PM - Homey the clown arrives.
12:06 PM - Animal Control arrives in response to frantic calls about a large elephant-like horned beast on the premises.
12:08 PM - SWAT team arrives to investigate reports of armed individuals constructing "infantry portals" on the premises.
12:10 PM - Camera is taken offline.
Really though? Let us not forget that the Videocasts were fun, interactive and fullfilled the communitys desire for updates far greater than just text did. Likewise with podcasts. I would argue that they probably pulled in a lot of old NS1 fans as well as new NS2 fans. It is something that not a lot of game companies, indie or otherwise are doing and it sets UWE apart from the others.
A polished videocast isn't required either. Get a video camera and shoot it Guerilla-style going around the office and just talking to some of the UWE team about whats going on in the office and what they're working on right now. Everyone talks about "the work that they could be doing" but making weekly posts on Friday take time away from the work they they could be doing. Maybe they should stop those too... the time that they would save would mean we would get our Alpha a couple of hours sooner. And don't say this because I'm not grateful for the fact that they do try to push out weekly updates, and that they make the occasional twitter posts, but there is no reason why they can't take some time to make the odd videocast everyone once in awhile again.
It'd be cheaper to just take 20 pictures with a camera phone and build a gif out of them, then post it on the front page.

If someone did that to me every week while I'm trying to model I would end up digging a spiked trench around my desk by week four.
A live webcam stream can be set up faster and easier than you can type out "Graphics Interchange Format".
Web2.0. Embrace it.
Yes, this whole cam thing is borderline creepy.
Now this:

This is the only outcome possible.
UWE is listed on several business indexes for the San Fran Bay area, not in the least detailing office address, phone numbers, contact names, CEO, number of employees, map directions, etc. the works. If they were going to get swatted, I'd expect San Fran police would have already seized a copy of the alpha and it would have been leaked by now.
