Not that it changes many things financially, but I'm sure they have some funds coming in for the Decoda licenses? If so that is at least one "stable" income source.

I'm sure Decoda and Zen of Sudoku has helped them financially, yes. But it's impossible to guesstimate that.
So where are you getting your assumptions of figures from for the amounts? I honestly have no way of knowing myself how I would begin to guestimate costs for sounds effects, designers, artwork etc.
Forgive me for saying, although it looks like you've just inserted arbitrary numbers and said "This is approximately how much it is costing".

I have friends who work in Animation and general media, thal. From my knowledge of the work they do, i guesstimated. Why do you think I said in clear cut letters, an estimation.

do you have bought a game before? did you ask ubisoft, ea, activision etc. the same question? "what do you need my money for?!?!?!?!" seriously, what the...? and you can pre-order games from big publisher too, so go and ask them what they need the money for
Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation put it best during one of his reviews where he referred to game development as a horrible black hole of an abyss that absorbs money.
Hotdog, Cory told me that he took your dollars - your exact dollars - out of the bank and spent it on Twinkies for the office. He said it was 'petty' cash.
His exacty words, I kid you not...

EDIT:
He just told me to post that 'I shouldn't put words in his mouth'.

I'm actually a little afraid of that. It can have a negative effect if NS2 grows too fast. A slow but steady increase is good because new players arrive in a game environment that is already working, with other players who know what they're doing. If suddenly a million new players who never heard about NS before arrive at the scene it will result in servers that are 99% filled with people who don't know what to do. In NS1 it was not exactly a straight forwards kind of game play, unlike most other games/mods at that time where you could just grab your gun and start shooting. I know they want to make it easier to get started in NS2, but the game will still be more complex and harder to get into than your average FPS. And if the majority of the players on a server don't know what a proper game is supposed to look like it may very well result in a lackluster experience.
Or put shortly: People on an all nub server will run into a brick wall, decide the game sucks and shelve it. Word of mouth will be bad.

NS1 was one of the most non-user friendly games ever and it did incredibly well with word of mouth. I'm sure UWE wants there to be a lot of ways to learn about the mechanics of the game during or before. This time being a commercial product, that needs to be even more reinforced with tooltips and proper guide/web information.

It gives no accurate or informed decision on the answer to the OP.

Maybe you missed the boat on this but the OP was answered very well for which I will sum up here: It is none of our business.
I appreciate what Slycaster did, even if it's only "throwing arbitary numbers" it's maybe a way more accurate guess than the OP or any of us could come up with.
And besides I also think it's none of our buisness, we even received a post from the devs quite fast and I didn't expect that there would be any statement to such a personal and indescrete question.

It isn't my place to discuss UWE's finances. I just want you to stop gunning for an argument, particularly given you're no better informed than the people you're looking down your nose at.
