<div class="IPBDescription">3 Hives up, what do you do?</div> Ok....
Aliens have 3 hives.
Fades are knockin on the door.
You know Onos are coming soon.
Besides leaving the game, what can you do?
I think that the best course of action would be to
have all the marines stay back,
and hold down the base, using welders.
no new weapons, til the upgrades are done,
and no one leaves base til everyone is equipt,
which will take a long time if res is low.
but the problem with that is that stupid morons leave the base and get killed.
thus wasting your res, and if they were equipt, precious armor/guns.
is there any way that this plan would actually work?
or is there a better way to handle this?

Remember - every Onos / Fade / Lerk you take out, you are wiping out their resources when they respawn.
Seriously you can hold off the alien base assasult if you send out Jetpack+HMG Marines and have them land on the hives and kill them.
If you coordinate it well enough you may be able to take out all 3 at the same time.

usually at this point in the game though, the aliens are gonna have a constant supply of resources unless the gorges were idiots and didnt cap any res nodes.
- a marine hiding in base is doing nothing for you.
- a dead LA/LMG marine costs nothing. Might as well use every resource you have.
- GL spamming is good.
- a good lerk will make it impossible to weld those turrets, a good fade will take them out -> leaving no defence.
- at this stage, resources mean very little to the aliens [they hold 90+% of the resource nodes - if they use redemption with onos you cannot even scratch their resources]
- a 'frontal' assault seems silly. As soon as your marines leave base, the aliens can take it apart [you won't have enough resources to build HA/HMG *and* rebuild tfacs etc.]
The only thing I have seen work is jetbo, and even then - with 3 movement chambers and webbing - he is going to have a hard time. (and even if he succeeds - with a few offence chambers in the hive you are not going to be able to stop them rebuilding the hive if they want).
[grouping at this stage is a liability -> lerk gas + bilebomb + 1 onos = bad]
Leave half your team to defend the main base as best as possible. The rest of the marines you send out near a hive location, and try as best as possible to siege the hive without attracting attention. Heck even one marine who managed to make it to a decent position can wipe out a hive pretty quickly.
Lol I love that term....that rox.
Yes but usally when a alien owns all three hives they usally own almost every res nozzel on the map so by the time they Evole to say onos get to the marines base do some damage and die there Res are back up to full so that when they respwan they can go onos once again
