Some Dedicated servers for steam games require lengthy workarounds to run with steam servers without actually running Steam on the server box.
Will the Dedicated server work like Half life dedicated servers with an update tool or will it be restricted to steam client to be running for it to work with steam servers?
Will it have a control panel or will it be cmd prompt?
Example: Rainbow six vegas requires a game CD to launch it's dedicated server unless you use a virtual cd image in turn chews up unessesary resources (yuck).
Not to mention ubisoft connections suck so badly most of the time we use comodo VPN.

I noticed with Alien Swarm, it needed some Steam related files; you could just copy them to the install instead of needing to run Steam itself, thankfully.
