The "feel" of the game that you're describing is a polish element and we haven't really gotten to the polish stage of the project yet. Since we have only 3 programmers building the engine, tools and game, sometimes things have to pushed later in the project, even when they are very important.

That said, I'd be curious to hear more about what you think should be changed about the mouse movement though. Do you think the mouse movement should be accelerated? Maybe a lack of acceleration makes it feel sluggish since we are accustomed to mouse acceleration on our desktops; this would be an interesting thing to test.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Hi Max!

I did just play NS2 Alpha for the first time and the mouse acceleration is really annoying. You ask if the mouse movement should be accelerated...
My short answer to that is: If NS2 don't got a button to disable mouse acceleration when the game goes Live I will contact PayPal and/or Unknownworlds for a refund. It's unplayable at the moment.

Plus im sure he would be a great help for general game play and small stuff. U never know he just might do it.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Firstly, esports players are almost always complete tools. Secondly, being good at playing a game doesnt mean your input on game design is any more valid than anyone elses.

You dont get bricklayers and joiners to design buildings. You dont get architects to do bricklaying and joinery.

Feel is very hard to define, as it is different for different people. But I can give my perspective: It's not just having the game react instantly to inputs, but also the player physics. The "incorrect" acceleration methods that's been used in Quake/HL/etc for ages are still there, because they simply are more fun and feels better. In the Quake3 sourcecode there's some proper acceleration code hidden in there, but it's commented out, because, "it doesn't feel as good" (not verbatim, but how i remember the comment).

With regards to mouse acceleration, I suggest simply adding a item to the options menu. I think that would be a better solution than with the GoldSrc/Source engine, where you have to pass parameters to disable mouse acceleration.

I'm sure there was a reason why Alphas don't usually get released to the public.... ohh yeh.

But you had better get input from the people who'll buy and live in the house. GG.
