What is the console command to get back to the main menu?

<div class="IPBDescription">Helpful if you get stuck on Authenticate, Attempting, etc</div>When the game gets stuck Authenticating or Attempting to connect, Escape doesn't bring you back to the main menu. Is there a way to get back to the menu without restarting NS2?

    yes there sort of is. I got this from a guy who discovered it of the .. somewhere i forgot.

    First you type disconnect
    then you type connect 34910412 (any messed up number will do)
    then it will take you back to the main menu!

    This is very useful. Glad I saw this thread. I had been just Alt-F4-ing out of the black screen if I didn't see Authenticating soon enough. Luckily on my PC, it only takes about 7 secs to Alt-F4 and be back at the server browser.

    You don't need to type disconnect first, just type "connect *"
    but thanks as it has helped me a lot ^^

    I did this yesterday when my friend and I got stuck, but as mentioned by others you do not need to type disconnect, simply type "connect <anything here>" and it will error out and return you to the main menu.

    I use "connect null", although sometimes I lose my cursor so I can't click the dialog box, in which case I have to restart the game regardless.

    If you open the escape menu and then bring up the console, you will be unable to click on the dialog button fyi
