64mb ram, might that be the issue?

its an onboard, OP what you have there isn't really a useful video card. It is alright for HTPC and generic use but not for gaming. Consider getting a new card.

But within the target minimum specs, so his issue is valid.

The game isn't optimized very much yet, so you might have to wait a while for it to be playable on lower end rigs. Hopefully they optimize it dramatically for you.

Unfortunately it isn't, as its not actually a graphics *card*.

You're right, didn't realize it was an onboard. Onboard graphics are notoriously bad even with much older games.

Slap a real card in that rig!

Is your driver up to date?

I was having major FPS-related issues (on an 8800GT), which were resolved by updating to the latest nVidia driver.

maybe try lowering graphics quality manually through options.xml since you can't change anything ingame.

    - type this in Run: %appdata%\Natural Selection 2\
    - open up options.xml
    - change <quality>2</quality> to <quality>0</quality>
    - change <y-resolution>960</y-resolution><x-resolution>1280</x-resolution> to something absurdly low like 600,800 respectively

    this might help, maybe not

also, if you make it into the game type this in console: r_shadows 0

I'm thinking the ancient graphics card is the real issue.

What we need here are the config settings for him to run this on LOWEST graphics.
Lucid gave a good start. Try that and see if you can run it. Remember though, you're on the absolute bare minimum specs so you may not be able to run the game until optimizations have been made. (Post alpha)
