unable to join server/how to activate one's black armor in-game. . .

Hi all! Long time viewer, first time poster. Silly question, but I loaded up NS2 for the first time today, and I was unable to join any of the servers presented - this was different to the issue presented by other threads, as no loading screen came up, and nothing was added to the console. I was double clicking the server and nowt happened. . . anyone else had this? am i just being stupid?

Soooo, I decided to create my own game, which worked. however, there was no option to dress into my sunday finery, and the marine model was the standard green one. . . is that option only available, then, on servers with more than one person?

    To my knowledge the black armor has not been implemented yet, it is a coming feature.

    I also had no luck double clicking servers to connect. You might try selecting a server then using the connect button below the server list. I don't think they have included double clicking in the server browser yet. (I assume they will, it most likely just slipped their mind when they were coding it)

    ah okay ^^ I couldn't find a connect button, but maybe that's the resolution on my laptop acting up. . . turns out the damn thing won't run NS2 very well anyhoo, so I'll have to wait until I get back to my desktop. . .

    The black armour is in the game, but so far only viewable by other people. From your point of view, the arms and anything else you can see of the armour is green, but for others its like a very faded black (as opposed to dull green).

    Ah well, it's Alpha.

    I'm looking forward to a playable release - I'm stuck connecting at the moment.
