What type of operating system do you have a 32bit or a 64bit.
What OS do you have (vista/win7/etc.)
also are you able to play the game or do you get attempting connection error?
just curious.
im using 64bit win7 ultimate a couple of friends are using 64bit win7 ultimate and no matter what none of us can play the game.

The attempting connection message is not an error. It means the server you're connecting to is either full, behind a badly configured firewall/NAT, or otherwise not accepting incoming connections. Just try a different server.

    W7 64bit

I can create but cannot join.

From what I read about all the complaining by those who can join, I'll count myself lucky.

    yes it is.

those of us who are actually getting the error are people who are using 64bit os every person i have talked to about getting this for every single game they try to join and unable to even start a lan server are using the 64bit os

its an error stop denying it.

That's funny because I'm using a 64bit OS and I can connect to servers that aren't full or behind firewalls. So how does that fit into your theory?

    Windows 7 64 bit.

I can connect to servers that aren't full / firewalled just fine.

However no matter what I do, all of my listen servers are LAN. And it makes me sad. :(

As some have said in this thread the "Attempting Connection.." is indeed not an error, it's a product of the server being full and there not being a time out or "This server is full" message. This means that it will keep trying to connect to the server, thus inducing lag. (if there are a lot of people trying to connect)

I'm pretty sure a high percentage of people who play games have a 64bit os, esp if they have windows 7 or vista, how many of the people have you asked with a 32bit os can connect with no problems at all? if you say all of them, I smell bull.
It's annoying when people blame it on an OS, pretty much everyone is having these connection problems, try joining a server with hardly any people in.

I have Win 7 64bit, and I can connect to games and make them.

    Vista 32 bit

I get "Attempting Connection.." when trying to connect to full / firewalled servers. (by far the majority of servers listed).

I can connect to non full well configured servers. (most of the passworded servers listed on this forum).

I like how when someone comes up with a logical theory all the nerds come on and bash it. unlike you guys who troll threads and complain me and several others have been brainstorming possible causes.

i dont see anyone bashing your theory that win 7 64bit is the cause of the problem. i see lots of people saying they have win7 64bit and it works for them
