ns2_Bast_Hybrid

Traditional adapted for ns2 gameplay
What started off as a remake of an all time great took a few turns. I took the basic layout from ns_bast and changed it up a bit making some areas smaller and some bigger. Here is the kickoff thread for the map. Keep in mind i want the old school feel on known ground and will most likely wait for some more textures and/or models before i expand the area @ bottom right.

There is no need for this. SN.Wolf is just as entitled to feedback as any other member of the forums. Your disapproval is not sufficient grounds to lock a thread; in fact moderators carry out tasks on their own discretion, not on the suggestion of forum members.
In the future, if you don't like something, please leave constructive criticism rather than delivering instructions to lock threads.
Just to clearify, the original layout won't work well with the change in gameplay> Bottom Line.
Truely troublesome to see such a non-supportive community and has actually changed my views at who people really are behind the maps.
@ uncle ray--> sorry, you where offended.
You mentioned a layout based on bast, but with less hallways, while decreasing it's overal size... That's all fine and dandy, but the screenshot is just too far away. Why not show us shots from inside the rooms instead?

I just made that image to see what each room you've made could represent. But even so, I wasn't really able to deduct much from that and was basically guessing... If you want to showoff a layout, make sure you do so from the top down.
About remaking a map, I guess trying to get a hold of Relic25 the original author would be pretty hard. But it is usually common practice to either get permission or just use a different name... Mendasp is the big boss now on ns_bast, dunno what he wants to say about this
After reading your post i tried to contact mend via a mutual friend and got the good 'ol mail return on the email i sent.
Anyways here are the screens---> Name Pending I supose.

If you go that way, as well as looking at Alien I'd suggest also looking at modern military vehicles for inspiration. Aircraft, warships, submarines, that sort of thing. Maybe even modern spacecraft too. Relic25 used or updated some of the textures he made for de_deep6 (a submarine base) in ns_bast, and as a result it's strongly reminiscent of the kind of vibe you might get from, say, a submarine interior, but extrapolated into a large spacecraft.
It would be a sweet look for an NS2 map. You might need some extra art assets, although there's certainly no shortage of pipes to be going on with.
As per sugestion advise the name is changed to NS2_Hybrid but since i was inspired by bast from the start to follow some of the layout, not to scale or location. I will still give credit to kevin and everyone involved in Bast for the inspiration to tackle an editor for an entirely different game.
You can use NS2_Hybrid by the way, Im not copyrighting my idea or anything :-P
