<a href="http://www.cgtextures.com/" target="_blank">http://www.cgtextures.com/</a>

You have to sign up for a 15MB free account but even if you don't, you can still browse for free without login to get some good ideas.

Just thought i would throw this link out there so mappers could add to their list of resources.

do note that most textures arent repeating ones, most are just pictures taken with a camera and maybe trweaked a bit, you will need to fix them up yourself.

There are a few that are actually repeatable textures but most arent

You can open the .dds files with Irfan View! Or with the <a href="http://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop" target="_blank">nvidia dds photoshop plugin</a>

Cgtextures is indeed the goto place on the web for material reference. But please don't just go and get all material crazy with ns2. Try to alter images or use them to add extra detail to materials so that they fit in with the ns2 style.

I would suggest the contrary : try to use materials to have new themes, to change from the mining-industry style...

Thanks for the link btw !

You can have very different styles but what I meant to say is that more than often importing materials as they are you will get results that are below the quality of the rest of the content.
