I want to show my appreciation that is for the game of Natural Selection. I've been playing it for 7 out of the 8 years myself, and don't think there's a single other game on the market that can even compare to it's in depth game design, it's community, the developers who worked on NS1 and developers who are currently working on NS2.

Every day, I'm always appreciating the existence of Natural Selection. I've made many friends, and enemies from it, but most importantly have had a lot of fun for the past 7 years. I can't say I'm a true NS vet (following NS for 8 years), but I would still consider myself to be one due to being a loyal fan for such a long period of time.

NS is like a really close friend to me. It's changed my life.

I hope everyone here has something similar to say about NS.

    I remember playing this game when it was first released. I loved it instantly when I started playing it and my life soon became nothing but ns. I stopped for a year due to no time to play anything then started again only to stop because CS took over again after sticking with other mods for awhile.

    I love half-life and all of its mods. It just brings back such great memories of all the ones I have played. I played competitively with NS, DoD, CS, digital paintball, TFC and others. I could write many paragraphs on each game but I highly doubt anyone would actually want to read that.

    What I loved to do was to say "there's a secret room here!" then press E at the same time as F4, then look at others trying to get inside the room :D

    I'm very suprised there's no news update about NS being 8 years old today. It's a bit saddening :(

    I think on Veil recently, it was the end game and aeroripper was hiding in the vent underneath Station Access Alpha. For some reason my teammates weren't able to find him, so I cloaked in there and gestated to onos inside the vent at his feet. Somehow we both stayed alive long enough for me finish gestating and surprise digest him. :)

    the word i am looking for...."EPIC".

    Back in 07 i was gifted HL and given the link for NS. I never even heard of it. when i spawned in for the first time i was awe stricken when i was killed by an unknown monster that was invisible moments just before it chewed of my left cheek. From that point on it was all about vengeance and i was Hooked. After about an hour or so i forced into the comm chair by the game gift-er and told "push this button,that button and this button". well i recycled alot of stuff searching for the back button but the players in the game held off the monsters and instead of screaming where more than helpful to explain what to do and thus i thank the wonderful community for making the game "Epic". now i host several NS1 servers with all kinds of fun stuff thanks to everyone at RCbot,witchbot,amx,metamod,nsarmory,vadakill,UWE and bry's ns for all the info i needed to make some of the most viscous Bot servers and addons to make for some great times for all.

    Hope i didn't miss anyone in the list as there where so many resources that helped build the bond of all the NS1 players that passed through my servers!!

    I remember stumbling on the website
    and then having to wait forever for the first release.

    but it did not disappoint.
    I eventually left a good TFC clan to run with a NS clan.

    Pub and clan play I loved it how mini-teams would run together on both sides wreaking havoc.

    Good times...good times.
