in NS2 General Discussion
Hello.
My game, Natural Selection 2 Beta, lags very much, but my computer isn't so bad.
My computer specs:
Windows Vista, Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 2.6 GHz, NVidia GeForce 9600 GT 512 MB, 2 GB RAM.
Please help me.

    The game is still in beta as you said yourself. So it doesn´t run 100% smooth for everyone. it should get better and better till release. and what sort of lags you have? low fps? or "connection problem detected"? the connection problem is a general problem atm. many ppl have the problem even with good pings

    I'm afraid that your lack of RAM is the issue here. 2 gigs is currently not enough to run vista and NS2 if you upgraded your RAM you'd see a marked improvement.

    Yeah, running Vista you need no less than 3Gb RAM, ideal 4 Gb or more.
    And another problem you have, you are using the worst 9 series card from nVidia (ok, ok, the GTS is worst than this one). Anyway, keep the driver up to date. The latest drivers have a new installer that first uninstall the old driver and then install the new. I know, 2 reboots, but is a lot better this way.

    In the game change the graphic setting to <b>Ridiculously Awful</b>. This help a lot.

    And take into consideration that there are problems with a memory leak on the server, so it ends lagging like hell.

    Also try "r_shadows false" in the console.

    This will boost your fps.
