2) go to either c:\documents and settings\owner\application data\natural selection2\options.xml (for windows xp) or %appdata%\natural selection 2\options.xml (for win7) and edit it, it's possible your video card doesn't support the resolution. Look for the lines that say <x-resolution>1280</x-resolution> and y-resolution and change them to something your monitor supports.
thanks for help sadly i cud not find these things but this is my card Hightech Radeon HD 4870 is it any reason that it dosent work? and just so we are clear it dosent just go little black and it starts, i try run the game then its loading on a black screen but a 6 sec or somthing it stops loading and it just stays black.

They might be hidden, change folder view settings to show hidden files.

Your not being helpfull to your self by holding back information, your being very vague. people will struggle to help you if you dont post system specs and error messages.
