Hello everyone, i just noticed all the this new news, ha, and saw the fade!!#@!$J!*)@!!!!

I, like many other people who played aliens in NS1, loved the fade

I just wanted to know, how does blink and the whole mechanics of the NS2 fade compare to the the NS1 fade. I know its still beta, but id like to know how it is as of now.

I hope to buy it in the near future and support the successor to my favorite multiplayer game

Well, NS1 fade blink was more of like a fast skulk leap, where you just kinda fast moved to any point you clicked.

In NS2, you right click to get a ghost image, and click again to instantly teleport to that location. If there is a marine there, it will orient you to face him.

It's twice as good as in NS1. You blink in instantly, give it a good whack, then blink out instantly. No more shotgun to the face when you come flying in!

Now instead when you blink in they set you on fire -.-

The only thing i noticed is it's very disorienting to just re-appear in another spot, instead of moving there extremely fast. It takes some getting used to, but afterwards it's...well..

It's like nightcrawler, in a FPS ^^ doesn't get any better then this

Fade revision 2 (NS1 second version) has me imagining the the flying Fade as this:

<i>Flying Fade: "Here I come to swipe yo all and I look ridiculous!"</i>

It is back to basics with the NS2 Fade, blink as in NS 1.04 and earlier!

In experienced player's hands the NS1 blink with air curve is probably still quite a bit more fluent and responsive, but many people seem to like the new one a lot and it's looking potentially very interesting.

The teleport mechanic is pretty fragile though, so we'll have to see how they'll manage the exact balance on its control, gameplay mechanics and efficiency. All in all, I guess I'm feeling cautiously positive with the new one.

It's not different than NS1. It's just the original one revamped :P I loved being able to blink into vents and acid rocketing from them :P

Agree that it's disorienting at first since you won't be used to it. When you are, though. Man...so fun to travel. So fun to kill...

like the rest of the community, i like how the fade blink works now. it's a little less disorientating than 156. which is nice. i would still like to see the fade blink become a "netherworld run" meaning that to everyone else the fade blink looks the same, but to the fade, you enter the netherworld with one right click, gain no-clipping to all players and buildings and gain 3x movement speed, and 3 times the jumping height while in the netherworld. simply right click again or left click (swipe) to come out of the netherworld and POOF, everyone sees you again at the new location. "netherworld run" would cost a decent amount of energy.

the only reason i say this is because the fade needs to be able to combat a flying jetpacker, and i really don't see how that will be feasible with the current fade blink mechanic.

Fade cotnrolling when it pops out sounds OP. All fades enter netherworld, noclip to marine start, pop out at same time and rape. Even if they could only pop into the netherworld for a few seconds, they could just run past everyone and ignore all marine defenses, recharge energy, and do again.

I agree we'll have to see how it works with Jetpacks. Maybe there can be a way to sense if you're aimed at a flying jetpack, in which case the blink will take you to the jetpacker instead of shooting past him to the ceiling?

I remember what it was like in NS1 when they changed the original blink, and suddenly Fades were flying around. Found it retarded the first time I saw it, and still think so now. Teleport blink all the way, glad it's back!
