<div class="IPBDescription">maybe as addition to the tab menu for vets</div>newcomers can still use the tab menu. i think the right mouse button menu was way more intuitive, and faster to use, it was almost like drawing gestures , felt kinda "organic" and very intuitive after some time when you got the whole tree in your head

I think they shouldnt add redundant systems before the rest of the content is in.
I didnt like it very much. Didnt use it though. It was way faster to bind some impulse-commands.

i agree with this, it was simple and effective. I honestly didn't care much for the fancy special effects for the menus, it was fine in ns1 and it should stay the same.

Yeah i'm surprised they removed it to! It really was a really distinctive and efficient feature in NS1

Then you need another button to do alt fire.

just get rid of the alt fire, it wasnt needed before.. or make the tab button have a setting in the options for gui or menu tree option

Removing alt-fire is silly. Aliens are built around using both left and right button so they can't use that menu, and removing so many skills just for a voice-comm menu doesn't seem right. No matter if the current alt-fires for marines aren't all that good, it's still paving way for more interesting changes in the future updates.
    Stop being so nostalgic :/

I'd rather have alt fire than a menu that can very well be on a keyboard button

Someone actually used that woah, all it did was get in the way :/

I agree but it'd have to be a keyboard key. Throw in gorge buildings in there too and make the menu simple.

Also speaking of right click menu, I wouldn't mind an option for a non-GUI build menu for the gorge (press "b" for example, then you'll get options to press 1, 2, 3, etc to drop buildings).

Edit: To clarify, an option for "not" having the build menu on one of the number keys.

I like the circular menu of Crysis which is fast and easy to select.
Also I use middle button as a menu and right menu for blink.

its not just for voice com, the whole alien gestating process and upgrades was centered around it. and i already said it does not have to be the right mouse button, it still could be a optional setting instead of the gui button

I always found the tree system rather stupid, hard to find the commands you want and takes up the whole screen. Plus you can use the second mouse button for far better things.

    No, don't bring that back.

It worked horribly and looked bad. Why?

Okay, as long as you don't get any funny ideas removing the right-click functionality.
If it was bound to clicking middle-mouse button or something like that I could live with it, since I'm rather fond of radial menus myself (although I think it could really be a bit more streamlined) and I kind of find the "Buy" menu for aliens to be quite disruptive (big humongous overlay with the only way to close it is to hit "Close").

You know, I find the current upgrade menu more intuitive. You don't have to search all possible branches as a new player...

You're a Skulk, go to the Skulk tab and select your upgrades and you're done. Easier to use, but the b key or what ever you are using for it should also close it instead of the close button topright

I like the new evolve menu, its far more intuitive.

You don't need rightclick for the context menu. Any key will do , really.

The context menu was especially useful for marines and gorges. The latter won't have much use for it anymore , but the former still bring a strong case to keep it.

Ohdeargodno! That menu was horrible! reinstating that would be like cutting of our feet, saying we didnt really need that anyway while we lived under water. Things have evolved since back then.

i loved the right click menu. but now maybe make it mouse3 so we can keep our secondary fire.

Do not want right click (or any key) menu tree. That is all.

Quite similar setup here, I actually had separate configs that loaded for each alien. Mah Gorgy had R set to resource tower placement :P

Use the radial aspect for aliens, but lose the submenus. That would fit best with NS2, I think. (obviously not on right-click)

    NO.

This popped up before and I'll vote again.
Although I thought it was fun...I really did.
Do not bring back the right-click menu.
New system is far more intuitive.

I remember trying to get my friends to play Natural Selection and the right-click menu was not intuitive at all.
I didn't realize it until watching them.
But basically (this was at a house LAN party) this was the scenario.
...I would get up from my chair.
...I would walk over and tell them where to go in the menu.
...They got sick of asking me.
    ...Marines always won.

2 people out of all my friends I convinced Natural Selection was a good game.
This was all because of the learning curve.

Everything UW does to make interface consistent and intuitive helps YOU to have more people to play with.
    :-)
