<div class="IPBDescription">Would like to see one eventually...</div>It would be really great if we could see a free weekend for the game eventually on steam maybe a couple months after release. I really think once people try the game when it is finished they will be a lot more excited, and willing to buy it. Does anyone know if there are any plans to do this? I would really like to show it to my friends this way. Or maybe atleast some guest passes...

The amount of times i was so close to just uninstalling NS1 because i just was hopeless (still am).
If say a combat mode was made that they could jump in and get the feel for the game then fair enough.
However, i have been reading a lot of peoples comments about how co might/might not fracture the community so whether your first experience of NS2 is a combat mode is up for debate.
Alternatively, as someone pointed out earlier in the week, bots are supported. If a tutorial of NS mode were to be created to gently ease in new players, then they would have some idea why they are in an ONOS' stomach then that would probably lead to a better experience. I'm guessing that the UWE team would have a lot on their plate so perhaps this could be something done by the community?
Although your post and all of mine is way down the line :)
"when it is finished".... "a couple months after release"... I certainly hope the engine is stable.
Don't read the title and post, read the actual post then reply.
I am for it. Perhaps there will be a training mode or tutorial that could help thin out the starting learning curve, I've heard a lot about bots etc for NS2. As for CO, there will likely be someone making a mod for it, whether the devs do it or not. I don't have a position on CO as I only started playing it after normal NS got boring (5 years or so lol) but still played siege maps etc to in a custom community.
I lol'd

There actually already is, check the Modding sub-forum.

I am so confused.. lol<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
NS:Combat. Think NS minus the commander and resources, instead people gain experience and levels, and can spend their levels on upgrades and equipment; small maps, combat-oriented, quick games.
I could live with that, but only make the player watch it once... like first run after install. Watching a tutorial video before every game would be very boring.
I'd like to see one happen in the future when things are looking/playing nicer, I dont think any serious multiplayer game on steam can get away with one really.
I vote for pre-orders of the alpha and beta to be excused from this shizzle :P
The gameplay is extremely complex compared to a normal FPS or RTS game right now. Combat-like modes are neccessary for longevity.
