<div class="IPBDescription">and i cant rebind it!</div>
Hi!
I just decided to finally purchase ns2, but got immediately attacked by its' bugs!

the first thing is that ns2 menus cannot be controlled by keyboard (at least for me) and since i accidentally bound console to mouse1, i CANT rebind it!
and now every click i click in-game console shows up.

that's NOTHING according to the problems i found with no relation to my recent stupidity.
when i open ns, the game is somehow really darkened as long as it's on full screen. only windowed mode fixes it up, but it simply sucks.
i tried to print-screen for you guys, but it shows only black.
and the gameplay have a lot of connection problems, which i noticed a lot of players having the same problem as well.

well, at least anyone knows how to rebind the toggle console command from console to another key? please? :P

    Open this file in a text editor:
    "C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2\options.xml"

    Change your "<ToggleConsole>MouseButton0</ToggleConsole>"

    to

    "<ToggleConsole>Grave</ToggleConsole>"

    Go here:
    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2
    ('AppData' folder is hidden by default)

    Edit file 'options.xml', and change this line:

    <ToggleConsole>
    F8 <------------------------ from mouse1 to whatever
    </ToggleConsole>

    that's weird!
    i already thought of this idea (cmon guys, i'm a programmer >< )
    but my ns2 installed on the "COMMON" folder and not "ROAMING"...
    and there is no file called options.xml in the folder at all!

    i guess i'll try to reinstall it.

    oops!!
    stupid again, didn't notice you meant on the users directory and not steam... my bad.. found it thanks :P

    %appdata% in startmenu run should get you into the correct folder... (winvista/win7/winxp related)

    The file is indeed called options.xml

    I did this once. XD
    If you play with it for a little bit, it IS possible to rebind this in game. I believe it's have the console open, move your mouse over the button that rebinds console, then double click it. There's a limit to how fast you can close the console and reopen it, so if the second click comes before the console can be re-opened, it will click the button to rebind.

    about the game being "darkened" check so your GPU drivers do not force AntiAliasing (and VSync)
    also, think someone said to turn off catalyst AI, for AMD users

    I love these forums. They make me aware of mistakes before I do them. Then when I do them I tell myself, “I knew that.
