It's not that bad. Most of it is probably for leaving the program running while doing something else. I too sometimes leave the game on when not playing just so my steam status says Natural Selection 2 and see who asks me about what that is.
44 Hours here, but I think that is mostly from editor use or in-game testing. I can never find a server with enough people and when I do, I either crash or its incredibly laggy. Four more patches and maybe it'll all be sorted out :\ and less empty server spam :|
Yesterday was the first time I really played, only had time for about one hour.... and I must say it was a blast :) Even with a very laggy full 10 person server (if someone can suggest a great server in germany or nearby, you're welcome) it was fun. First I thought it was my pc but other people were complaining too. Let's see if i can find a "nicer" server tonight :)
Still trying to figure out a lot of things (I watched all NS2HD videos to be kinda prepared [thx for them] :) )
Only games I've logged over 200 hours in are Killing Floor and of course WoW.
Bought NS 2 in the middle of build 161, and I've played for a total of 12 hours.
Looking forward to start spending more time on it though, I've bought a used 5850 to replace my old 8800gt - the game will probably be more fun if the gfx card isnt limping :D
Only 10 hours here, but I'm the kinda guy who likes finished products, so I really only hop in to check out new stuff. Helps keep me from burning out before the game's even out *cough cough SC2 beta*
Sadly for me the game still is unplayable... lags and fps that let me think I am in a slideshow. But still I try my best but that only let me get around 50 houres of funny but also hard and frustrating gameplay. But after every update I give it a new try for about 5 or 6 houres xD Even if it still is unplayable...
I'm not supprised at the dedication the comunity is showing to NS2. But I wonder if we are hard core or addicted! 49 hours on one computer and 9 on the other. I don't know if time on LAN is counted. I have some serious problems with my video card (GTX 460) artifacting. (only on NS2) so I can only play for about 10 to 15 min. So 49 divided 4 or 6 = times. The other computer isn't powerful enough to play without a lot of lag.
I just got the beta last night. I've only put in a few hours poking around a little. So far I haven't seen a ton of people online in games / servers. Where is everybody? Do you play on publics or is it mostly private stuff?
Anyway you'll see me around a bit on both the forums and the servers.
