Am I the only person who cannot actually see it? I mean I knew about this site like months ago and then I got told not to tell anyone about it, and now that it's finally released it doesn't appear to be there for me!     While I like the site, and it looks pretty and all... I wish even more strongly for a non-flash-required site. The flash isn't really doing anything that animated graphics, or mouse-overs couldn't, except making an un-needed requirement to turn on flash every time I want to get to the forums or to check the news page.

    A bigger problem is that using flash 'breaks' the tabbed browsing mine, and many other browsers use now, as we can no longer right-click on a link to the forums or even the news page, instead getting the Macromedia Flash menu.

    I had the same problem when I first started to get into NS, my friend sent me the link to thier site but I was completely lost. Later on the week I got on another computer and I relized it was mostly flash so all I had to do is just update my flash.

    Anyhow, I was a bit lazy on the detection side last time, so even if you didn't have flash, you got the flash file-- there's some detection in this round, and I've saved it down to v5 instead of 6, so it should be much friendlier.

    Also: There's a simple html version, WolfWings-- and I've just sent a fix on so that it refreshes the entire window with an html-friendly frameset (instead of just the menu panel) so that you can bookmark it and avoid the flash altogether (it's not posted atm, and I don't know when it will be . . . )

    i like it way more except...

    1.what is the empty space off to the right of the scrollbar for? and...
    2.i want clickable links to dl, forums,world, etc. right now its flash and i cant for instance, right clik and open in a new browser (which i use a lot)

    yah, I think it is unfriendly to large reses (thats what causes the blank to the right)

    there also IS an HTML menu, just click the link on the bottom (personaly I think it should start of in HLTM, but that is just bias)

    Ok I wasnt seeing it either I just saw the old site with misaligned and odd color text and broken links...You need to type in "http://www. natural-selection.org" into you browser manually and Delete your old bookmark. At least thats what worked for me.

    BTW Nice work BM! Too bad all the options dont have a drop menu like "screenshots"...I really like that.

    Yeah, here we're more or less bound by a lack of options here . . . either center it (we tried-- doesn't really work with this design), pop it open in a new window (I can only <i>imagine</i> the complaints we'd get if I did that), or keep it flush with the left.

    One day I'd like to explore a way to make this all less abrupt, but for the time being, it's up and I'm taking a breather <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    At some point, there'll be a new intro-- the old one was a teaser, which isn't really necessary now that the game's out-- plus, that thing was a bandwidth hog. I think it was roughly 250k or so.
