Hi, I just bought the game because I love the first NS and I got bored this night.

I dont really know how to explain it but it just lack the fluidity like other fps games, it feels like playing unreal tournament or quake with ~20 fps or with a 40hz screen.
Is this a common problemor is it only me who is experiancing this problem with stuttering gameplay?

my comp specs is:

AMD athlon x2 6000+ (3,1ghz)
5gb ddr2 ram
ati radeon 4850 with latest drivers.

Is there a way to check fps? Console doesnt react on thoose commands I'm familiar with like sensitivity. Exit works though!

/Thankful for any kind of help.

The FPS stutter is a common problem along side server side lag. They are being worked on. Welcome to a real beta instead of a polished final beta :)

    Also welcome to the community

Console commands for FPS and netstats are:
    r_stats 1
    net_stats

And there are more of course:

The problem is caused by the lua / c++ interaction.

Apparently max is looking at it in the next patch.

Everyone is having the same problem.

Reading out your FPS just doesn't give you an accurate picture of your experience in NS2 at the moment. The stuttering doesn't seem to affect FPS so much, and even without the stuttering it doesn't feel nearly as smooth as the FPS suggest it should.

The stuttering is primarily a problem of the Lua garbage-collector. It should be worked on as we speak.

It's definitely a common problem, and it's the main fix a lot of us are waiting for. It'll certainly be fixed before release, and hopefully soon, but you'll just have to hold out for the patch either way.

I believe it's an issue which will be fixed incrementally over time, rather than being resolved with one patch.
