(Wont) Create Faces
Hello. Searching was futile so here I go. When I attempt to create faces on non-complex shapes (rectangles/parallelograms) the editor just don't seem to want to create it. Any ideas/things I am doing wrong?
Simple rectangle wont create.

don't select vertex points, select lines only and double check you have all the edges, then hit alt + c.
should work, if not, maybe you have overlapping vertex points. drag select boxes around each vertex point with only vertex points unlocked in your selection modifier buttons, then hit ctrl + w to weld the points together, then reselect your edges and try the face creation again.

I know about the other side ;)(though thanks for covering all possibilities). Maybe the multi-vertex thing is a problem. I'll check into it.
Yea i was using the "delete the lines and start over" technique it just wouldn't work in all cases. The welding of the vertexes solved it perfectly thank you. After watching Mendasp's entire video set I also try to avoid using that extract tool. Seems the hollow tool has been reincarnated in a way.
-Select the edges only, don't use the vertices
-Make sure the lines only extend to where they are supposed to be, sometimes a line you think stops at the particular point actually goes on (eg: you had a line, thought you split it in half, but the line wasn't actually cut).
-the face could have been made, check the other side
-make sure you are in a mode that allows you to create it (Eg: not in texture mode, etc...)
-make sure no duplicate vertices
-make sure no duplicate lines
The easiest way to make sure it works is to select everything in the area, stay in selection mode, hit the I key to weld any vertices should they need it, and then try again. Check both sides and you should find the face.
