Did I come back at the wrong time?

<div class="IPBDescription">Game still very laggy?</div>Hey All,
I took a break from NS while the lag issues got sorted out, the I had some things going on in my personal life. Last night I logged in to play and check out the game since I've been faithfully keeping up with the patch notes and to my dismay the game was basically unplayable on the two servers I tried. One wouldn't leave the lobby and the other was so laggy it was like when I first started playing.
Was some major bug released I didn't hear about?
Thanks :)

possibly a 'absolute minimal' setting.. ?
I know tho, once a little time is put into the performance, a few 'quick wins' will be found that would improve performance..
Really hoping a mini performance cycle is done soon
There is a vent that went to 9 on the client thing in net_stats when I used alien vision, felt like 3 fps or something. I added an annotation, but dunno exactly how effective that system is, will the mapper be able to see it, or is it something more of a local thing that only exist on server I put it in?
It is not as laggy as you described it tho (except for certain spots in alien vision), so maybe its your hardware or something? Or perhaps you just joined servers with bad hardware?

I wish this was true, but unfortunately that's not how it works. There are no "quick wins" that are going to improve performance that significantly, just a lot of programming time and effort to address a whole multitude of different optimizations, in many different areas of the game. Its not like we've been putting off the performance issues and working on other stuff, Max has been mainly focused on that for quite a while. One of those big tasks, the optimized LUA binding layer that is listed in the progress list, is what Max has been working on for the past few weeks, and is getting close to having it ready for release. We are hoping that will make a big difference, but again, there are so many variables and no silver bullet with this performance stuff, so its too early to know at this point.
Don't worry, the game will get there, but it is going to take a lot of hard work, and some more time on Max's end but it still remains a key focus for us.

I get a lot of FPS.
I'm talking about Lag as in One second a guy is standing in one spot, then the next he warps to another, then another, then another. It's like I'm missing packets or getting choke or something.
I don't believe so.
Balmark says "possibly a 'absolute minimal' setting.. ?" - That refers to graphics
Feha says " Especially in alien vision mode in tram. There is a vent that went to 9 on the client thing in net_stats when I used alien vision, felt like 3 fps or something." - That refers to frames per second.
I'm getting a solid 40 Frames Per Second, if not more with my graphics card. Despite me getting a good FPS rate I still experience where players will be standing in one spot, and then warp to the next.
I'm not sure how this would equal "performance" can you please explain this to me? I'm either missing something or everyone else is not understanding exactly what I'm saying.
if the server where you are, is a good one and was restarted recently, going to work very well.
I also have a solids 45fps
i am very happy with the fps
waiting for server fix
If the performance of the server is poor, then you will experience lag and warping, even if your machine is running at a good FPS. Our current focus, at the moment, is on improving server performance to reduce the lag. Once we have that more under control we will shift focus back to client performance, to increase FPS on local machines.

OMG, thank you, this is what I like to hear! The server lag is killing meeee.
