In the address bar of a folder browser type in %appdata% and post the folder path it takes you to, As well as that do you know if your logging in as administrator?

Was there a Natural Selection 2 folder in there or did you have to create it?

Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > User Accounts will show you if the account your using is administrator

While I do truly enjoy the sight of the community banding together to help a fellow gamer. . . this game simply isn't going to run on such obsolete hardware. A P4/Semperon class machine with a FX5500 card isn't going to run this game. It can't even do SM3.0. You badly need an upgrade my friend. My machine is a i7 980x with 12 gigs of DDR3 and 2 GTX470's in SLi and I still drop frames on occasion.

Dude, you're trying to play a game on integrated video.

It might. Eventually. When we're not in beta and the engine is optimized to wonderful land of sunshine and rainbows.

To put it in perspective, people with top-of-the-line computers with badass graphics cards are barely getting smooth playing.

No, it will not. Farmville will. Peggle should. NS2 will not.

Note to others: Integrated Intel GFX chips are the worst at games. They are designed to sell cheap laptops and PCs. Not play games.

If you have a laptop, no NS2 for you. If you have a desktop, buy a Graphics Card.

Oh yeah, Indeed this is true, an Intel GPU's are certainly no gaming cards, they are not that powerfull in that area they are for Business platforms.

Is it a desktop PC, if so what are all its hardware specs?, If its a laptop you have not got a chance.

idk why anyone is even attempting to assist him like its NOT his setup thats the issue??

your video card is so old it isnt sold ANYWHERE.
your video card is so old the nomenclature has come around full circle (5500 to 580 gtx - what you should buy instead)
your video card was THEE failure of Nvidia, admitted by themselves multiple times.
your video card was the budget version of the worst video card made by this company.

not trying to be a ######, but i am assuming you know this is A) an unoptimized beta and B) your rig is incredibly subpar
so why post anything? you can put together a mid range system for 400 to 600$ from new egg that will run anything you'd like at high settings.
just saying.. this is the 3rd post in a week thats like this, do people truly not understand a computer is not a console?

Are half the people in this thread trolling? It's entirely his system...it's like a decade old.

What I want to know is why this game runs like ###### on MY system, which even I consider outdated but still manage to run BFBC2/Far Cry 2/Black Ops full settings at 1360x768 with 60FPS. Hell I can even play Crisis 2 at medium settings perfectly and that game is even in a crappy beta state...###### I can run it on high as well but my card just gets hotter than I'm comfortable with.

    GPU: 9800GTX+
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16ghz
    RAM: OCZ 4gb
    MOBO: Foxconn P45A01
    SOUND: Soundblaster Live! Series
    OS: Windows XP SP3

[EDIT] I really exaggerated too much, I actually can't run NS2 at all lol. I get like 5 FPS amid all the random 1-2 second freezes every once in awhile and after 10 minutes textures start going out of whack and the game unceremoniously CTD. Normally I would just say, oh ###### my card is getting fried, but during windowed the temp was at a cool 69-70 all the way through. I usually have it running at like 79-85 on most of my other games.

the texture glitching sounds like overheating, improperly seated card, or drivers.
thats the temp for your GPU, but whats the temp of your CPU and are you overclocking anything?

Something must be faulty with your hardware or drivers - your gfx card and cpu is more than capable to run the game at least in the 25+ fps region. (my notebook gets around 15 fps [+- 5 fps] low settings in 1650* resolution and only has a 4650m + 1,7ghz i7 720m but windows 7 64bit)

    Koruyo,

you do know there was a MP beta for crysis 2, right? he could have been referring to that.

It wasnt a beta it was a demo - at least EA and every download platform(steam, xbox marketplace...) called it crysis 2 demo. (just look into your steam)

Whatever, sure there are enough ways to dodge my comment... - and of course the possibility that im wrong, but for me it sounded like he was referring to the beta leak.

I also made a :D - means i dont care and it was ment more like a joke - and im sure nobody else cares even if it was true.

Its not like UWE forum admins would send his ip to ea just because there is a possibility that he could have downloaded the leak.

    PS:
    Usually
Beta = full game but still under development
Demo = a presentation of the final game - usually a multiplayer map and/or 1-2 missions of a single player campain

    Its pretty simple guys..

NS2 uses deffered rendering which is a fairly new technique and its really a technique initially developed for XBOX360/PS3 so in PC land its going to require a graphics card that is DX10 generation card not that the game that needs DX10 but generally speaking the GPU's that are DX10 capable are designed to handle this new rendering technique so they perform HEAPS better then DX9 generation cards...

The dev's really need to update their requirements page..

Just for the record the rendering method they are using is totally kick ass and very future proof.
