Battlefield play4free is to be released April 4th for all players, april 2nd for facebook/twitter followers, and is already open for people who have Battlefield Bad Company 1&2, Battlefield 1943, and Battlefield Heroes.

Gonna try this in a bit and see if its any good.

    Well I played it for a little bit. Yes, its buggy as hell and crashes often, but the gameplay is rather enjoyable. Feels like a battlefield 2/bad company 2/combat arms mash up. You spend points earned during gameplay to either unlock guns for a set amount of days or you can spend less than about $10 and buy weapons/gear of your choice. Pretty fair I suppose, they just need to work out the bugs.

    Stick to Battlefield 2 I say. It's still played by a lot of people, and it's <i>awesome</i>.

    Past few updates seem to have fixed most of the crashes for me, some servers are laggy but most work fine.

    Ok, the game has plenty of flaws, but I'm actually finding it fun.


    Admittedly, I just discovered the only time I have found griefing to be hilarious and completely worth my time:

    The majority of people who play this game are idiots.
    They don't realize that if you get brought back to life standing in exactly the same spot your just died in, it's a good idea to move.

    I just spent a game destroying people's K/D ratio by shocking them, only to have them stand there, get killed by exactly the same person, and repeat the process around 20 times, it was hilarious.


    That said, the defib is seriously OP. The charge time on it is almost nil, and it has no limits, so I can jsut sit there and keep 5 soldiers alive almost forever.

    In BF2 it didn't count as a death if you got revived, are you sure that was changed?

    I can second that, but i must prove him right, it was absolutely a buggy piece of ... in the beta, and definetely not playable for me back then^^
