Cool idea. But I would rather have a mod that was standard DK rts style with only supporting like 4 (or whatever) players as the keepers and use AI for creatures just like DK does.
I had plans to create a very similar mod myself, but in a futuristic setting rather than the DK2 fantasy (purely as my artistic skills are awful at best, so it would speed things up to work with the existing NS2 assets as much as possible, and also it would create a darker feel, I think).
If you're looking for any help with this project, I'd love to chip in.
I already got as far as creating some breakable wall entities and an entity that populates the walls in the pre-alpha but lost all my source code when trying to get the alpha to work on my system (I think steam didn't appreciate my tinkering)
Have you created a github project for this yet? I think most of the building blocks that we'd need for this kind of project are already in the alpha (though obviously it will help when the MAC pathfinding code gets a little more mature!)
From what I saw of dungeon keeper it was all done on line of sight shortest distance mapping however they did that.
Would be mint if this could work ^^
Perhaps it could be done instead of tiles and destructable terrain infestation and obviously burning it away again :) all already built in and ready to go :)
