Marine Build Distance

<div class="IPBDescription">or How to Bump 'n Grind an RT</div>So, anyone else feel like the distance and facing requirements for building are too strict? Seems like I've got to be close enough that I'm clipping through structures and aiming at the very center of the object, otherwise it won't build. I remember the +use in any Half-Life game being very leniant, which made using buttons much less stressful. It does seem to make it easier for Skulks to get the drop on Marines, however.

    Hitboxes in general are wonky. The worst is with harvesters, where if you attack it with the axe slightly off center, you do no damage. Similar things happen with hydras where you have to attack the base to do any damage.

    With regards to building structures, I think they should greatly increase the build distance so you don't have to hug the structure to construct it.

    building is one reason i have my flashlight bind on the same button as use.

    I often catch myself getting to close when building.

    I don't understand. What does having flashlight on the same key as use do?

    I find building an IP is very difficult as a marine in first person. Turning just one pixel off center stops the construction and I have to try to find the magic spot again. I don't have a problem with any other structure.

    The trick is to aim at the 'arm' on the IP and it should build fine. Agreed it should probably be fixed to allow just a slightly increased radius however as this can be a bit confusing to new players.
