I think the timestamp on the memo is three days early.

    BOOM

also this is just FOIA type stuff, it's not really the smoking gun it's made out to be

besides it's mathematically impossible (even assuming life HAS to be carbon based) for aliens not to exist

It's also impossible to build a spaceworthy craft which can be knocked out by terrestrial radar emissions. What with every single thing in space emitting massive amounts of radio waves and other forms of radiation.

If it's been covered up once, it can be covered up twice.

I got a feeling that either someone decided to troll people and forged that thing, or its a arpil fools joke, which maybe was a tad late.

There is ofcourse also the option that what he described were weather baloons, with some corpses of childrens inside, put there by someone who wanted to get attention, and someone shoot the baloons, making them fall over that place described.
Unlikely as this is, I find it more likely than the whole ufo idea :P.

As Drfuzzy already pointed out, it's also listed for public viewing directly on the FBI website - <a href="http://vault.fbi.gov/hottel_guy/" target="_blank">http://vault.fbi.gov/hottel_guy/</a>

I did more reading on this earlier also, its rumored that it was a report of a con artist using that story as a way to try to get investors to drill for oil in the area at the time, telling them that he had alien technology that could see underground. Could possibly be why it says they had nothing further to report at the end.

    Yes, it's a real report.

No it doesn't actually say anything. It just says that some informant gave this information to an FBI guy, who then has to make an official document out of it, that is all.

    That's a joke, right?

There have been a million shows on those. They range about from "OMG ALIENS!" to "Look, it was a couple of blokes with a plank and a piece of twine".

I did NOT mean those fantasy shows. Id rather take a documentary. Whats the official story on cattle mutilations? I still dont know. Cult or UFO? hah I cant lean towards either.

That's the second group of shows. I was specifically talking about crop circles (the actual explanation is 2 guys with some twine and a board, it's all sorts of awesome tbh as it's basically just applied mathematics). Hell, the first set are also 'documentaries' they are just bad, full of bad 'science' and filled with idiots.

As for cattle mutilation, the answer has ranged about a lot, generally because each instance of mutilation is relatively different. Some are attributed to humans, some to scavengers, and some are unknown. That said, the number of instances of Cattle Mutilation is fairly damn low. Read the FBI stuff I linked if you really want to know (it covers a fairly big FBI investigation into it a while back).

These shows were really popular about 10-15 years back (when I was in HS). Or just watch random episodes of Penn and Teller's BS (They have covered aliens a few times and cryptozoology)

And there are still people who believe in crop circles and think that at most the rope & board thing is a clever way to fake "real" ones. As Long John Silver said, "the world wants to be fooled."

Thansal, some crop circles are man-made. That has been proven, admitted to and demonstrated.

Others are extremely elaborate, appear miles away from any civilization overnight with no light or any way to work out a ground plan, and are HUGE. These are the ones that are still a mystery today.

Also, I like how your sig still has a TWG quote in it :P

All crop circles are created by the inhabitants of Earth. Whether insects or an animal or whatever manages to destroy or eat it and leave it in a "rough shape" of something, or whether people are creating these with some pretty cool techniques it doesn't matter. No form of life would communicate that way, not when there are much simpler and better ways for them to do so. As someone mentioned fooling, only a fool would believe in alien crop circles.

Bored teenagers in rural areas with nothing better to do

    vs

Lifeforms that are so advanced we have no physical proof of their existence except that they leave cryptic geometric 'communications' in crop fields, but never actually present themselves to us

I think Occam's razor makes pretty quick work of this

Maybe it is the alien equivalent of tagging. <img src="http://www.purpleboard.net/forums/images/smilies/037.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />
