Just saying.. I'd buy one... even without the Marine skin.

Just want to play the game and help with development xD

Heck, i'd pay 50$ for it (hint)

You don't need the special edition to play, just the beta pre-order.

Yes. The standard edition gives you beta access.

    It is :)

Anyone who preorders right now gets beta access, SE was just a way of saying thanks, it entailed alpha access and pink armor (*ahem* I mean black of course)

Beta is a fairly vague term, it can mean a game under heavy development or indeed a game that is basically finished and needs some tweaking...

or if you are EA games you use the term Beta to make money from what would otherwise be a free Demo ;) and at the same time anger all other developers for raising their customers expectations for games that in Beta stages :P

I wish they were pink... Nothing would help as much as a pink armor in combat, as then the opponent will get suprised and you could therefor gain a second or something. And who would want to dmg you?

In pink you'd be seen from far faar away, while in black, you can hide in the shadow ;)

Ah, but as Feha suggests. The enemy will be in such awe of the color they simply cannot fight back D:

Oh man, the rage I felt when the Space Pirates and Zombies team released a demo of a fully-functional and nearly complete product, then labelled it a "Pre-Alpha"...

Some people have higher standards, can't sue them for that. If EA or the Space, Pirates and zombies find something close to being polished is their standard for a beta, I think they're doing a very good job of beta.

There's feature complete traditional beta and there's Google Beta lasting years.
