Move tools is moving more than selected
<div class="IPBDescription">It seems to auto weld or something</div>I'm really struggling to understand why my "brushes" are not able to be moved without moving other things they're connected to.
How can I detach a wall and move it in a direction without the floor staying clung to it?

Pretty much.
I've had some difficulty with this too because I'm coming from the source mindset of building my maps block by block (i.e. the additive method). However, spark works in reverse, where you're essentially carving the map out of a solid block (the subtractive method). I think that's why the grab-and-move method of map geometry that is the foundation of source mapping doesn't work in spark.
I'll try that thanks.
As a suggestion to the devs, I'd appreciate the feature Hammer has of auto moving the active window when you drag down with your mouse. Right now you gotta hold left click, and then hold mouse3 to drag. Would be convenient.
I find just copy/pasting whenever I do anything with a different face and manipulating the new pasted face to be best. I won't use the line/extrude/whatever tool unless I have to.
Wouldn't cut & paste be easier? :P
Well, I copy, then delete the extra vertices/lines so I can check there's no orphaned vertices or anything, then paste safely! I could cut, but it's actually the same number of steps :)
But now I have a new question.
If I delete a face, it still leaves the lines. It's usually easy enough to delete them, but can some lines overlap each other? Is there a way to see this? Does leaving extra lines around decrease performance? How do I select a line that is stuck inside another line if this problem is real? If I double click a face, it selects the lines and all, but it also selects all the other polygons it is connected to. Is there a way to double click and not select other attached polygons?
sorry for all the questions : p
I think what I'll do is finish up this little test map and then see if anyone can take a look at it and point of what I've done wrong in terms of optimization.

That thread really should be stickied.
Also, I don't have much welded stuff, I do everything in separate faces all the time because it's easier to edit and feels closer to Hammer (and it avoids the issue you're having). This is only my opinion, of course, I don't know if anyone else does this differently.
You can only weld and not weld? Is there a specific way to weld, maybe I'm doing it on accident.
