<div class="IPBDescription">Umm my first map and layout</div>This is the basic layout of my map. To bad this is my first time mapping. ok.. I was thinking that the marines had to power up the whole level with the generator. So commander console won't work untill they have located the generator and switched it on. Some entrances/doors will be locked (emergency shutdown locked) so the aliens can't get in to the marine spawn or the generator before it is on. While the marines locates the generator the aliens get ready to defend.
Can't come up with more now I'll tell you later if I think of something.

As far as not allowing the marines to use the command station until they've turned on the generator, I don't think I recommend that. I think there's plenty of interesting gameplay ideas you can try out without changing something that risky. I just waited 1 hour for the compilation (right?) just to come down and see that World Craft had hung itself. Could' have been something that I used the cordon lines or that my computer haven't been reboted in 9 hours.
And the generator room as deathtrap:
The generator would only be toggled on once and then stay on. When the marines search for the generator there would only be one entrance to it, that only marines can enter from, and when toggled on all the doors/vents leading to Marine spawn and generator room would be opened. And from Marine Spawn there would be clearly visible signs that leads them to the generator.
Do you think it would work ? And by making the generator only powered up if 2 buttons are pressed at the same time the aliens would get a little more time advantage.
