/me waits for the magazine reviews to start rolling in
EDIT: Err, is being referred to as the 'spawn of the loins of Half-Life' a good thing?
Looks like CS gets some competition. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (Altough I hope that NS will never become retail. Just look what those goons did to CS. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->)
+ great article
Things like a printed manual, printed maps of the maps, the missing tutorial level of dewm, extra ingame MP3 music, a cuddly onos beanie baby would all make it worthwhile.
NS retail would also avoid the curses of CS retail, it would have all the normal maps and everything would still have the same name (Unlike the stupid changed weapon names in CS retail).

Good point there, but just think about what this would cause. 9 year olds would get NS burnt on a CD, and it wouldn´t be the same anymore IMHO.
No more marine killing from above or behind without getting flamed, even less marines who are willing to listen to orders, getting called a camper when being ordered to defend a particular spot, children who demand a 1:1 all the time because they got U83R 1337 |-|/\><0R 5KI11Z...
I could be wrong though, but that´s just the way I see it. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Oh come on, it's great publicity, and will bring in alot of people. They don't actually say it's called X-Ray glasses, they just say it is like that. Sure, you can tell they didn't spend 6 hours on the thing, but would you take all your time to review a mod you had never heard of?
it IS his job... (?)
He is dropping ammo at the last pic, and there is an armory there <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Im sure the Ns team is happy to learn of this. Reading through the article looks like its not a bad review. looks like a thumbs up from PCGAMER UK.
obtw, commando thx for taking the time to scan the articles and share it with the community <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Great publicity for NS <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I'll look for this issue locally, but I assume I have to get it sent from the UK. Is the PC Gamer for the UK the same as the PC Gamer in the US?

It's the UK edition.
I've never heard the word "such-like" used in the states <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I'm told the US edition is vastly inferior and quite a different magazine, far more adverts and less content.
Also, Dan Forever, you said "PC Zone (infinately better then PCG uk imo) reviewed NS too, only half a page but it was given 93% and it's on the covermount". Any chance we could get a scan of it?
I think perhaps the reviewers writing style isn't too familiar to some people: "X-Ray Specs" is a caption to the info-box, rather than an actual heading. I.e., a semi-humorous description/metaphor/indirect linguistic pun or basic alliterative technique that vaguely describes the feature in question to any reader not learned in every aspect of NS... it is a sort of preview/review after all. I don't think anyone could be stupid enough to presume that the aliens had X-Ray Specs or presume that someone else could presume as such. Wee.
Now that the unnecessary English vocabulary crap is out of the way: Yay! The more the merrier, as far as publicity goes. Hell, this mod is original and fun enough to bypass most "proffesional" games as it is...
