Before you flame me out here, let me explain. The rewards for donating real money would NOT give you an advantage in the actual gameplay, just be fun little extras. It would not be a "Free to Play, Pay to Win" scenario. I was thinking maybe some alternate character skins, possibly give options to make your weapons look different, different interfaces. Stuff like that.

This would be good for NS2's funding. Just trying to help here.. Anyone like this idea?

    An alternative suggestion here.. Leave the Special Edition up for sale for like $50 with even more extras than it currently has.

    I'm not averse to some pointless reskin DLC, I don't have to buy it after all, although I would prefer if UWE spent their time on stuff I would actually be interested in buying like an expansion pack.

    Marines should be able to replace their helmets with <a href="http://www.huntingraccoon.com/Assets/Images/coonface2.jpg" target="_blank">racoon cap-style</a> hat made out of a skulk.

    Then I would support this.

    Not a bad idea at all, but like Chris0132, I'd prefer time spent on more important things first.

    After that, sure, additional skins and other adjustments would be welcome.
    Maybe some bling?
    Rocking shirt?
    Shades?

    Its just the logical conclusion of his suggestion. Hats do "NOT give you an advantage in the actual gameplay" and are "fun little extras". He's basically suggesting something similar to the 'robot enrichment' store Valve put out with Portal 2.

    I'm actually fine with this as long as UWE provides a way to get these items without having to pay.

    So you basically want another 'special' edition that comes with a cool distinguishing upgrade, such as a custom skulk model, for example? Because some people would consider a pirate hat cool.

    Make it like NS2 account and a bank office in the UK?

    Then send money from your current bank to the NS2-bank and voilá the game is as good as it should be

    And no this isn't troll it's words in random order
