<div class="IPBDescription">Deployed vs. Un-deployed</div>This post might be resolved in one question. Do ARC's have different health when deployed vs un-deployed?
Maybe not so much different health, but a damage modifier depending on the ARCs deployment status?
As it is I believe they have the same health and damage modifier regardless of whether they are deployed. This really doesn't make much sense just from looking at an ARC. Un-deployed they appear to be very well armored. The deployed state has many more "sensitive" parts exposed. It really doesn't make much sense for the amount of damage received from attacks to be the same in both states.
Having different health values depending of deployment status doesn't make sense (suddenly the ARC has more health when it un-deploys, and vice versa). A damage modifier makes more sense. Perhaps an un-deployed ARC should receives 1/2(or so) the normal amount of damage from attacks. Could even use a compromise, 1/4 less when packed, 1/4 more when deployed, ect.
This makes ARC tougher on the move, therefore easier to get into position.
They will also be more vulnerable when seigeing, requiring Marines to defend them. (duh)
This also encourages "smart" commanding and attacking:
If the Marine position is under a heavy attack, being/is lost, a smart decision would be to pack up the ARCs in an effort to keep them alive until reinforcements can rescue them.
Likewise, if the Kharaa know they cannot overwhelm the Marine's position (ie, buncha skulks vs buncha shotties) directly attacking the ARCs may be a good option to try and save the Hive/area. This would buy the Kharaa some time to regroup before new ARCs could arrive.

Once the bugs have been fixed, I could easily see the ARC becoming a mobile death cannon against the aliens. Its quite effective against entrenched alien positions that it should have a serious drawback.
It makes sense as well.
nothing much to say other then I agree completely.
I liked this idea when I first saw it, and so small bump for more attention.

Edit:
While im bumping might as well ask this. I'm not a lua coder. I'd try my hand at learning if I had the time, but alas, I do not. Is anyone interesting in codeing a trial version of this so its viability can be play tested?
Is it possible to have attacks ignore the ARC's armor when it is deployed? I know various attack types treat armor differently, but is there a way to not apply the ARC's armor HP when it is deployed?
It seems like everyone agrees with it.
