  The egg is slightly off the ground so you don't spawn in the floor.

  Refinements come after everything has been implemented, I highly doubt it will stay that way in the long run.

  They are planning on having your camera view inside the egg.
  So you wont even be able to see that that, and neither will anyone else because you cant get that low unless you somehow placed your egg somewhere on eye hight.
