I'm getting an empty server list ever since i reformatted my comp. I've made exceptions for NS2 in the firewall, opened the appropriate ports on my router, disabled the ingame overlay, reinstalled NS2, tried to connect to specific servers via the "connect *insert ip here*" command. what else can i try? i haven't seen anything else on the forums or by googling. I'd really appreciate any ideas you may have. im running vista.

Not sure either, but it seems common enough from all of the threads that pop up about this. I think the odd thing is that creating a local server first fixes it.

This.
Client going unresponsive is a new symptom.

when i try to create a local game NS2 crashes.
Go to your games list in steam, right click natural selection 2, go to properties, then local files tab, lastly click verify integrity of game cache.
For some reason i have to do this also after every single patch. I think my steam isn't recognizing that a new patch was downloaded and therefor didnt install properly.
