This might not answer your question but you can 'see' them in the model viewer, and one fan made mod has a working jet pack. You can use cheats in game to get the minigun and onos. The models aren't viewable, you can only see how the minigun fires (probably not the final version), and see how high the onos player's view is.

What's the command for the onos view? And does it change your bounding box/player movement stuff?
So what's the real reason for holding this stuff back at this point?
From what i've read much of the code is done already, same with the models, so i don't quite get why they can't or won't put some of it together now and get it in game, they seem to keep shifting focus and bug fixing, so it would be nice to see them focus more on the main content which is what really matters and what everyone wants, even the mod community can bang things out in a reasonable time frame...

They won't start on Onos and Exo till the new Animation system is impemented. Also main conten is added al the time. Next things will come are phantasmes and the Shift (MC). And what is basic content? Hell it is a new game in development and not NS1 Spark. JP, HMG and Onos will be implemented last because they are Tier 3 (of 3).
It is more important to work on other tasks with higher priority than Tier 3.
I'll recomend you PTMod from Schnitzel if you want Tier 3 things.
honestly why do people keep asking about jp hmg and onos... do u really think this is gonna work well when most people get less than 30 fps? It's going to lag us more and most people wont be able to use jp so onos is just gonna rape everything

The ONOS cannot fit in Summit. I've tried and he will be at a massive disadvantage. Can you imagine an Onos trying to flee Marine start going through Ventilation? He's just a GIANT meat target that can't jump because all the areas are too small.

HMGs can be implemented to level out gameplay for tier 2.

Jetpacks can be implemented but will not be as useful because half the map is extremely short in height.

HA (Exoskeleton) will not be introduced before you see a reveal at the least. Look how long ago the Onos reveal was released, do you see an Onos? :P

Patience is the only thing we have in our favor for now...
There are 2 philosophies in development of any software. Your customers primarily want features, that's what they can play with, everyone wants new things. So developers give what has the most immediate obvious way to show progress, they roll out features. Other developers do a slow and steady bug fix bug fix and 1 or two features per release. You need to find the balance between the 2 polar opposites.
I have a lot of experience with this in my current employer. The customers want features features features. So the developers worked on features, every release. They would add a feature built upon a buggy feature, and we would go months and years with the same bugs in the systems because they needed all the man resources for features.
You HAVE to prioritize properly, get a solid groundwork done and get a relatively stable bug free environment, then you can add features, fix any bugs that pop up as the result of those features, then add more features, rinse and repeat.
Right now UWE is doing it EXACTLY how they should. They are taking the time to fix a boat load of bugs, issues, exploits and Quality of Life things and adding some small features here and there that don't take up too many man hours. Once they have a good relatively bug free and general performance level baseline they are free to concentrate on big ticket features.
I have a feeling that after this patch, they will possibly release one more smaller bug fix small feature and possibly server oriented patch (maps, server quality of life things etc). Then they may switch gears into some of the more bigger things like Tier 3.
People need to realize and think.. Do you really want to play with the Onos or HA when you have exploits, horrible FPS, bugs that make your abilities not work? OR Would you rather wait for a solid game at its base, then add features in, fix bugs with those features, add another feature, etc.
Oh I do agree, bug fixing should be of higher prio than new features. I am also aware that the inclusion of the HMG / Minigun would level out the playing field of Fade > SG.
Point about the Onos moving through Vent is mute as they can use the door going to Crossroads.
It had also crossed my mind that the high of the map in places does reduce the effectivness of JPs, Some areas of concern are:
Flight Control Crevice (Clearly the 'room' is to small for any decent JP use) Some corridors (FC > Heli, FC > XR)

The door can be locked, stop saying that. None of us know how the Onos kicking down doors with work, so as of right now all we have to work with is he will be force to flee through a very tight area.

activate cheats, then simply enter 'onos' in the console. Its just like being an Onos (movement, perspective, size) only you're invisible.

That way they wouldn’t have to worry about balancing it :-)
