If NS went retail...
Many times it was brought up in this Forum. Many times people said "It'll happen" or "It'll never happen".

I don't know if Natural Selection will ever went retail (I doubt it just because the HL-Engine is getting too old for the commercial market) but...

Fact is: Natural Selection has a bigger playerbase than most commercial games out there.
Fact is: Natural Selection has a more innovative gameplay than most commercial games.
Fact is: Natural Selection has a more dedicated Developerteam and Community than most commercial games.
Fact is: Natural Selection has more storyline/background than most commercial games.
Fact is: Natural Selection has more atmosphere and tension than most commercial games
Fact is: Natural Selection has occupied more of my time than any other commercial (or non-commercial) game before.

And as I realized all this facts, I thought about my last game-investment.

The last game I bought was the Collectors Edition of WarCraft III.
I still find myself thinking that I was crazy to give away € 92,20 for a computer-game.
But I'm almost SURE that it was worth it. Do you guys know what the WarCraft III Collectors Editon included?
I'll tell you:
1. The Game-CD
2. The Soundtrack-CD
3. The Movie-DVD with all Cutscenes and Trailers
4. The Manual with Signatures of the Developers
5. The Art of WarCraft Book with Concept Art
6. Prints of all 4 Races

Now, I see myself playing Natural Selection more than WarCraft. I never spent a cent on Natural Selection (well, I bought a Mousepad, but only for the base-price, so noone of the developers sees a cent from CafePress ). Still I consider Natural Selection "better" (as far as you can compare a Strategy/Roleplaygame with a Strategy/FirstPerson Shooter) than WarCraft III, althoug I would call myself a Warcraft-Fan.

What other conclusion I could get than to be sure that I would buy the Natural Selection Collectors Edition without any delay.

Unfortunately, I can't. Natural Selection is free for download. FREE.
I won't get the chance to receive a big packet from the postman, with a feeling like christmas.
I won't get the chance to sit in our living-room, opening the box to feel the soft, black fabric-inlay.
I won't get the chance to look the Strategy Guide and read about all those unbeatable Strategies.
I won't get the chance to open my personal Gold-Member Passport, limited to a number of 100.000 pieces worldwide.
I won't get the chance to read in the 300-page Manual all night.

Fortunately, I don't need to buy a Collectors Edition of Natural Selection.
I have a digital camera.
I have a printer.
I have photo-editing software.
I have online-tutorials without limits.
I have photo-paper.
I'm stupid enough to spend my time (not only the sparetime) on things like this.

P.S.: I know that I already did some BoxArt, but I thought it was time for something more "real"...
P.S.: Take a guess what's real and what's fake...

    Great work man.

The box in the middle is real, at least the bottom half without the letters and stuff, CD case is real without ns logo, mouse pad, member thingy without ns logo, and thats all I can find.

Some critique though: It looks more like a flag than a poster...
    otherwise gj!
