Infestation color

So I'm really liking the new infestation, the 3d bubbling element is quite nice, and I like the more hi res texture. However the color is a little too cartoony to me. Its too bright green.

Right now the infestation is kind of this color

<a href="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat470011a&prodId=prod930033a" target="_blank">Scorpion Green</a>

But for a more organic look I think that a more brown hue would really make it look more authentic

Right now it looks like bright snot, which is fine and all, but for a more natural puke / slime look it should more subtle green

They glow orange on pretty much everything somewhere, so I don't really think the infestation part is that cartoony in comparison. But I think the idea is more otherworldly than cartoony, which from your reaction I guess got that.

They've also been using about the same colors for infestation for a long time before NS2 so I doubt it's changing really.

I guess I was just referring to the fact that NS1 infestation was very brown/yellow greenish. It was much more earthy colored then snotty colored. To me that has a more believable color palette for realism than the current bright green infestation.

the current infestation is just a placeholder until the real product is ready. it may have a different color when the final product is released.

It's going to be pink and purple and as it continues to infest and grow, little flowers are going to pop out of it and sing to you. Just a little FYI.

    :)

Would be cool if it grew non-interactive visual structures. Maybe a breathing bubble, or a patch that is a different color, or is rock hard and doesn't move. Cool aesthetic ideas.

Kalabalana has it! That would be really cool, but seems more late development stage, but worth the talk. As for me, color isn't really an insue, because if I'm ever on the battlefield it's because I'm commanding alien or marine side or playing as aliens with the alien flash light so I only see orange anyways:).

    Amazing idea:
Like thermal vents, little tentacles, airsacks, translucent bubbles, deformed bone pieces, maybe even some creepy vestigial eyes!
some of them might even have some simple idle animations?
