Just Bought NS2!

I'm Jamie, I hail from Scotland! And I've just ordered Natural Selection 2! <b>Booya!</b>
Me and my mates used to play NS, almost religiously, many moons ago. It kinda fizzled out when our rigs were getting significantly outdated/died... And ultimately, we just sorta, moved on.
Especially so when Source came out, and NS was all but a grand memory for me. I did play NS for about 3 (maybe more) years, on and off though! So, it's not like we were just two ships passing in the night. I had many fun times playing on the original NS, and I was pretty damn awesome if I say so!
I probably had the name Jammanmaster or HarryPothead back then though. I don't know if any 'original' players are kicking around, but I'm assuming so!
Well, onto the good part. I've just purchased a new rig recently, and I've really been meaning to get round to buying this game... And I finally did it.. Lets just say, it's a sort of, early Xmas present to me!
Here's hoping that the £23 I spent on the title is worth the price of admission! :)

There's quite a few around here who used to play ns1, myself included! If you haven't checked out NS2HD:s videos on youtube I strongly recommend them! Seems like you joined in just as we're having the much awaited reincarnation of onos at our doorstep!
Remember, you're pre-ordering the game. You just happen to get BETA access. It's still in production but is getting better and better with every update.

I do appreciate the fact that the game is still in the <b> Beta</b> stage; I've done my fair share of Half Life mod testing, fault and bug finding, so I'll submit bugs where and when I find them - Making sure to be as detailed as possible.
I found a couple of little bugs last night, but I was so wrapped up in actually having a good time, I haven't submitted them yet!
One was an issue with no sound on the first launch. I haven't gotten to grips with the console commands yet to re-load the sounds or restart the game itself, so I just had to quit and restart the instance. I'm assuming there is a known issue with sound and/or Xonar (DX) sound cards?
The engine is stunning though. The graphics really blew me away. The attention to detail is impeccable. In my first game, I was like a kid at Christmas :)
And I think I'll be like that for every other game in the future!

Just recently got back to playing NS2, but hoping to get at least one good game every day :-)
I've not had a proper look at creating a server, but will/is 'Combat' mode be re-introduced/available?
I've not seen/heard of it yet, but from what I remember, it was good for a quick fast-paced blast of NS, whenever you needed it!

That's good to hear Flayra! :) And thanks for the welcome, it's good to see such an active community - Especially where the developers actually get involved; it's rare these days.
Heh, I can't wait to see the Onos in action again.... He's one hell of a terrifying force for the Marines! (And I suppose for the Aliens too).
