1. That's being worked on

2. Mineshaft is huge, and so are the other official NS2 maps in development.

3. Gorges can build Hydras and mini Cysts which are very useful.

Drifters look just ugly. Why don't we let gorges drop things like Hive, Crag, Whip and something? Not let gorge to volunteer all the time, we can let them use Tres individually. And I always miss those super defended walls by gorges.

Assuming stalemates are now fixed, my 3 picks would be

1/ Sound gameplay- fix up the sound localization and thresholds to a point where a 'silence' upgrade would have a gameplay effect similar to NS1

2/ Target tracking- Visually distinguish targets in close combat. It will be difficult to optimize movement around the current Blair Witch close combat visuals or an alien flashlight purpose built to be annoying.

3/ Movement- fix up skulk and marine movement to a point it doesn't feel like your piloting a fat guy on a bmx.

Personal preference of appearance on an important game play piece that eventually turns into a structure weakly supports your argument?

Honestly the shirking of Hive responsibilities to the Alien Commander is a good thing. Allows the Gorge to become more useful in a battle: maintaining Cyst connections and setting up offense/defense with Hydras where necessary. It gives for a better control of the game for the Alien team as they don't have to worry about who is dropping what like NS1 had. This is a sequel to the game, if you want the original stuff I'm sure people still play NS1.

TL:DR: Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.

Marines follow orders from commanders.

And aliens? What do they do? I still cannot feel that they fit at commanding system. I still think it's good that Hives can be dropped by Tres, but the others, like Crags or something elses,, these should belong to Gorges. Aliens are more like team-play, but depending almost everything(to drop structures, control Whips, use umbra) on commander ruins teamplay i think, and it doesn't even work well! Gorges should have access to control or drop those structures. As I said, some worries about 'who will gonna drop hive?' can be solved by it, if gorges can use tres. But the others, Whips and Crags or even just Mini-Crags like mini-cysts, should be for Gorges. To let aliens depend on commander is just horrible i think.

I don't mean that Alien commander should be removed, but i just think that Gorges should have more roles. Even mini-whips or mini-crags for skirmishes are fit! Aliens become much less organic just after having commander. Don't you think that's ridiculous?

giving the gorge 1-2 more buildings sounds okay, but i still think they should not be 100% vital to a team. what will happen if nobody of your team wants to be gorge? no harvesters then? no defense at all? no crags to heal a hive?

The three things I would love to see in NS2 which I think will make it even more sucessful.

1)The game how it is currently planed with all features included, highly optimized to constantly deliver +60 fps
2) Skillbased movement at least for aliens. It was stated that some form, different from bunny hopping, will be implemented. I am excited about the concepts behind it.
3)Advanced ESport Support. Means the basic stuff like replays, but also things like a match making function would be great, like an ingame gather system. Ladder also would be great (no hats plx). I personally think that the possible sucess of ns2 through a good focus on esport can skyrocket the sales into "unknown worlds" :D. (What a play on words...)

These are my christmas whishes :) Hopefuly some are going to be real :)

1. Needs to run perfectly, NS sort of requires near-perfect performance and latency in order to be fun.
2. Lots of mods experimenting with gamemodes, I want to see people making combat work better without sacrificing too much of NS, and I also want to see the NS mode refined until you find something that works best.
3. Editor fixed up, want to start mapping but also want to wait until the editor is more feature complete so I can manage level geometry better.

If they know what's good for them they do as I tell them when I tell them to defend the hives and resources I'm placing.

Same as if nobody wants to be comm?
Though I guess the comm can at least hop out and shoot attackers without wasting 10 res and some time on evolving to&from skulk.

ok, guess you got a point there.
as a side note, you can go gorge and be commander as well. thats a good way to spend personal res by placing some hydras near the main hive every now and then. few people do this though.

back on topic, i already consider this one of the best games. however, i havent played ns1 in ages so it's a bit difficult for me to compare.

anyway, here's my top3:
1. a way to end stalemates (i've seen games where we had more than 1570 teamres... 999 is limit for hud, but you can see the actual number on the scoreboard)
2. higher fps (i saw many people complaining about this and i know of people who are not buying the game (yet?) because of this reason)
3. some way to keep kharaa from using that yellow-ish view too much as that takes away a lot of the graphics/atmosphere (in my oppinion)

thoughts on those 3:
1. they are working on this afaik so this will probably turn out fine with the next patch or some time after that. oh and i can't wait for the nuke, even if that will still take ages to make it into the game.
2. is still being worked on as i can see in the progress log: simple collision shapes sounds promising.
3. this has been brought up somewhere but i dont know if they will be adressing it or not.
