spectator's usage of map

while watching yet another NS2HD video it came into my mind that it is pretty frustrating to watch a game commentry when you don't have the foggiest idea where the spectator is on the map. no, i don't have the game myself. the places where the games are played are far from familiar to me.

first color that blobbed into my mind was a orange triangle that shows where the spectator is watching and where it is located on the map.

also in the minimap on the down left and on the big map that shows on the center of the screen.

however, it would be nice to decide where the big map is showing when you open it up, on 90% of the cases NS2HD uses it, it is on the way.
on lefthand side or tighthand side gives a spectator a double vision to look the map while simultaniously can watch the action also.

What, exactly, would this additional information (and potential clutter) on the map accomplish? How would knowing where spectators are improve gameplay? What new features does it add, or what existing issues does it address?

I'm certain this suggestion wasn't meant as a player addition. But meant to show the spectator where he is, making commentary video's from spectator perspective easier to follow, for people that don't know the map inside and out :)

i guess this wouldn't be hard to implement, just adding a marker on the map showing your location as a spectator.

I assume this then would only show for the spectator him/herself as having 10+ other spectating markers on the map would take away the point of having one in the first place (in case of tournaments with lots of spectators) and players don't need to know any of that info.

I cant really see any disadvantages of this and it would make watching videos like NS2HD's easier to follow for someone who doesn't own/play the game/map.
Guessing the code for something like this would be more or less in place already anyway for the marine and alien team.
