Sweet map! seeing all of these cool maps makes me want to have a go with the editor. Not sure I have enough patience thou =/
The map looks brilliant to my untrained eye, but I find that it looks too clean for my taste. maybe you just haven't placed props etc yet?, or you're going for a cleaner theme. I favour gritty themes so it could just be my taste that make it feel odd. =)

Large sections of what you see are the props in place, yeah i'm going for a cleaner theme as opposed to the large portion of maps that are in development that have the whole dark, mine theme going. For the most part i only started this project as a test to find a style of lighting and visual theme that was cleaner than most, the 'Clean Lab' look. Obviously the plan is as the player progress' from the marine spawn towards the Kharaa hive that the style of lighting will get darker, along with the architecture. Think of the start of doom 3, as you progress through that game the areas get darker, still the same old mars station yet it's twisted, at least that's what i'm hoping to achieve with Serva.

Since I been busy with moving and work and various other issues that have cropped up i haven't exactly had time to settle down and work on the map, but just a little update to show I am working on the map again and updates should be more regular, in my down time I did manage to have a complete layout drawn up and will post it up later.
After looking over what I had initially made i decided to rebuild the starting area around the marine starting techpoint.

lol Ach they were just there as a leftover from when I started redesigning it, I'll get around to replacing it soon enough, just for the moment trying to get the layout all in place, but! I finally got around to starting it again.. at last.

Smoother! Yeah I like the breaking of symmetry. I hope that is just a small piece of the room. It is very tight around the tp :p Players lie lots of space, they always want more of it :p
Okay well since the original map has had to be sort of put on hold due to unforeseeable problems I've decided to restart it entirely and hopefully get back on track, so opened spark last night. Not entirely much just a minor update, a lot more should be coming soon.

Looking classy and well done. Some of the far corners there need light as well, might just want to blow up a point light at a very small value. Also, if this is going to be an RT area, I recommend giving it a bit more of a sense of place. Try to add something to the nice geometry that ties it all together.

Aye was thinking the same, I've literally just been at that most of this evening an just wanted to give this a quick minor update so people don't think it's dead. There are some aspects of that room i'm not entirely comfortable with so will likely go through some changes in the next few days when I can get back to it.
lol Yeah I know, it's still just very wip at the moment, for the most part I didn't actually intend on it starting up as anything at all, just opened spark yesterday and literally just stopped an while half way through it I figured I would continue with it, I'll likely touch it up tomorrow an put out another update.
Nice work, Janos. I'm especially digging this shot quite a bit. I really like the walls one either side of that door. The railings and pipes could be replaced with better railing and pipe props, but otherwise looking good. But you said you started the map over, does that mean this area is not being used now?

Thanks. No that part is being used, I had started over with the intention of reusing a lot of the old areas I had created originally while spicing them up slightly, although I had started over entirely with the plan of using the props that were unintentionally released so I'll be going back and reusing that area.

looking forward to testing it.

Anyway, just a tiny update to say I have gotten back to it and hopefully will have a considerably larger update.
(Still with the summit overlays :P)
Thanks, unfortunately it's already changed lol

That's an amazing looking screenshot there, the lighting is just right and I love how the curve of that wall meets the ground with the diagonal.
