NS2 on ATI

<div class="IPBDescription">Dark gray fog over everything</div>When in NS2, anything from a distance is sort of fogged over in really dark grey. I wasn't sure if this was intended or not, but when I loaded up one of my NS2 maps I'm working on, I realized it's all very dark as well. I used to map on an Nvidia card, and I didn't have my map looking this way.
I know this is beta, but I thought maybe there was something I could adjust in my graphical settings? I tried disabling Catalyst AI, and tweaking a few things but no luck.
Any tips?
Edit: I also can't seem to load my old maps that used to work. It's been a few months since I've worked on them because my PC died, but now when I go into console and type "map 'mapname'" it shows the console giving me a host of errors, and unfortunately print screen is showing up all black, so I'd have to take a picture on my camera. Has anything drastically changed when it comes to making a map loadable?

Upp'd to a 560TI.. not much improvement on any game other then UT3 engine games...

I don't believe this is intentional because its ugly. I think it is probably a driver related error or something. I could try to reinstall but I am already coming off a fresh download.

Ya the difference is the amount of shaders in those cards. UT3 uses a lot of shaders, but a game that is high in polygons or cpu usage, you would be less likely to see improvement.

Looks perfectly normal to me. Or the same as it does with my Nvidia card. It's just some sort of a light effect.
In commander mode, that same bright light that shows up as grey on your screen, hits you right in the eyes so you can't see anything.

dang that sucks. You can almost see zero detail in some areas because it is a solid grey.
r_atmospherics false
r_atmospherics false<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
That did it!
Game looks like normal now.
now to turn it off in Spark . . .
you will see normal once you type r_atmospherics false in console!
AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2\log.txt for the console-log.
And expect your map to break at any build really, you're trying to hit a moving target.
I wouldn't consider it trolling. The default for atmospherics was switched from false to true in one of the B18X patches, so you could very easily think the game got 'foggier' if you were used to the previous non-atmospherics look. Its a cool graphics feature, but its current implementation probably needs tweaking to reduce the 'impenetrable gray haze' effect.
I'll post a video today and try to point out how the effect has anomalies in some areas.

What would make you think I'm trolling?
But those are indeed in game and perfectly normal. One of those atmospheric light spot effects is clearly visible in your last screenshot for example

Can't seem to find a log file. I managed to get a screenshot using fraps this time. These are the console errors when I try to load my map.
