animations

thinking about buying for beta access as game looks great overall but the animations still look a bit stiff and not very fluid. I was just curious if animations were still a work in progress or if they've been pretty much finalized.

everything is pretty much a work-in-progress. most polishing will probably be done once lag/fps/glitches issues are fixed..

I don't know anything about game design but are animations really something that would change in the polishing stage?

i mean, compared to all the features and balances yet to be implemented.. kinda.

*edit* they keep improving the movement of skulks and even are adding turn animations for marines (if it isn't in yet), so actually they are working on it, a bit at a time tho.

A while back they've already changed the animation system from an older system that was less flexible, but simply haven't gotten around to polishing the fluidity of the animations or the animation transitions yet. So yeah, pretty much EVERYTHING you see in NS2 is still going to get a polishing pass if not multiple passes.

More important issues at hand right now though :)
